A pastoral people inhabiting the rolling coastal grasslands west of the once great forest of Dimwood. the halfling clans established a unified hegemony of small provinces or Shires each representing one of the 7 predominant lineages of the race. Subsisting on agriculture & interaction with the peaceful elves & humans of the region halfling culture thrived until westward expansion by the colonial armies of the Vaxxian Empire began the decades of war & industrialization that was the 1st & 2nd Witch-War. The Sevenfold Shires were an early casualty of the Empires' militarization of the SW continent in response to the wars soon to be raging in the Dimwood. When Vaxxian forces arrived in the area they were not sure what to do with the strange little "Childmen" they found there, but they did know they were friendly to the wood-elves they had come to destroy & therefore could not be trusted.
Though not 'enslaved' (a common legal sentance for criminals in the Empire) halfings are urbanized, discriminated against & fenced off from the world, thier government, economy & rescources now practically controlled by a distant & corrupt empire that has absorbed them against thier will. Crime, black-marketing, inflation & exploitation run rampant in the Sevenfold Shires & many families & groups become vagrants, rebels even, whole clans travel the world Gypsy-like & nationless descendants of those refugee's who managed to cross the Borders of the empire, escaping across the sea to Whitespire or Westreach, many into the Dimwood & from there into Vandalor. Feathertoe: Sacrifices woodland abilities & set spear, for thief skills: Move silent, Hide/shadows, find trap-if no metal armor, max 5th lvl.
Faconeye: Sacrifices set spear attack for +1 to hit with crossbow or sling
